  • Where did copper get it's name? Copper got it's name from the latin word "cuprum" meaning "From Cyprus" which is the island where the romans discovered copper .

  • Who discovered copper? It is unknown who discovered copper. Although archaelogical evidence suggests that it was discovered by people between 5000 BC and 1200 BC.

  • Where is it found? Copper can be found naturally in basaltic lava from volcanic activity. It can also be found in oxidized ores, which are processed to extract copper.

  • What is copper used for? Copper is mainly used for making jewelry, coin currency, and electrical wiring.
